Youth Art MonthZIONSVILLE YOUTH ART MONTH

Youth Art Month (YAM) is an annual observation each March to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs. Established in 1961, Youth Art Month provides a forum for acknowledging skills that are fostered Youth Artist Monththrough experience in the visual arts that are not possible in other subjects offered in the curriculum.

YOUTH ART MONTH ACTIVITIES AND ART DISPLAYS IN ZIONSVILLE:
Artwork created by students of the Zionsville Fine Arts Department (Grades 1-12) will be on display at the following Zionsville establishments:

FREE ART CLASSES - Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Library each Saturday during the month of March.
March 2 @ 3:00pm: Zionsville Community Schools "Art for the Heart" Ages K-12
March 9 @ 2:00pm: My Art "Create an animal drawing inspired by the artist Laurel Burch" Ages K-6
March 16 @10:30am: A Space to Create "Explore the amazing art of Pablo Picasso" Ages 5-9
March 23 @ 2:00 pm: Sullivan Munce "Create a mobile inspired by the artist Alexander Calder" Ages 8-12

Youth Artist MonthThe Zionsville Fine Arts Department is selling Window Clings ($5) & Yard Signs ($20). All proceeds will be used to support Art programs in the community of Zionsville. Window Clings will be available to purchase at each ZCS School and supporting Zionsville establishments. Please contact egoodman@zcs.k12.in.us for a Yard Sign.
